Kindergarten Ready
Abbi had her Kindergarten Dr. Appointment yesterday. She got her hearing and vision checked, among other things and has been declared a healthy 4 year old and all ready for school! I know it's still about 6 months away, but I can't believe it's coming so fast! It seems like just yesterday I held a little baby girl in my arms...oh wait...that was just yesterday, different little girl though! But really, the time has flown by and I am grateful for every moment I have been able to spend with this amazing girl!
{doing the hearing test. She thought this was really funny!}
{doing the vision test. She said this was her favorite part of the night!}
{she got to pick a treat for afterward because she got 3 shots in her leg (not her favorite part, but she was very brave!) so she picked chocolate cake with whipped cream and a cherry on top...good choice! We went to cheesecake factory...another good choice!}
{I had to ask specifically for the cherry. She told the waitress all about her 3 shots so she brought Abbi 3 cherries, 1 for each shot!}
{then she decorated her cake with them}
Some fun facts about Abigail:
She loves to dressup (all day, every day)
She loves to color and is very meticulous about it.
She is a great big sister, always gives and takes.
She loves piano lessons and can play "Old MacDonald" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb"
She does not like Mac and Cheese or pizza or hamburgers (weird I know!)
She loves blueberries and fish and chocolate!
She likes to help me cook.
She can navigate a computer better than some adults.
She loves to go to church and sing primary songs and can learn a whole new song in 15 minutes!
She has an imaginary friend named Irridessa and an imaginary castle that she frequents on weekends and holidays.
She has to find her "comfy spot" before she goes to bed.
She is always concerned for others. Even her little brother!
I love that girl and I'm so lucky to be her mommy!

Black Eye
Jackson got this in nursery today. He tried to climb something and fell. I couldn't get a very good picture of it because he's so wiggly, but it's a pretty good little slice on his eye and it's all swollen.

Project
Paul has been busy doing this all week:
A new backsplash for our whole kitchen! Lots of work, but it's almost done and it looks great! I'm so proud of him! Thanks Paul!
We also had to replace a broken dishwasher and garbage disposal...it's been a busy weekend!

Romance Is Nice...
Romance is nice. But it is biological in origin. That dizzy head-over-heels feeling is a species of losing your mind, and most of the time it lasts only as long as the chase. What we keep forgetting is that in marriage, as opposed to romances, you aren't marrying the thrilling wonderful perfect Someone you're looking at right now. You're marrying the man who decides not to have the dazzling career with the high salary, refusing promotions and transfers so the kids don't have to change schools. You're marrying the woman whose body doesn't bounce back after the third baby, so she's no longer slim and attractive by the standards of the magazines. You're marrying the migraines and the hemorrhoids and the heart attack and the cancer; you're marrying the irritable, forgetful, lazy, thoughtless, sarcastic, distracted, too-busy days as well as the Kodak-happy ones.
You're marrying the one who works with you to raise the crippled child, or stands with you at the graveside of the child who dies. You're marrying the one who can't find work after the company folds or he's laid off; you're marrying the early Alzheimer's, the diabetes, the obesity, the pain of conflict and the struggle of forgiveness. The foundation of that isn't some ideal of romantic love. It's a commitment based on the goals you share. And real love, married love, is not what you start with--it's what you create together along the way.

Best Valentine's Ever!
We had the best V Day ever today! It started last night. We got heart attacked! Our lawn was covered with hearts! Then we got doorbell ditched And someone left a huge bag full of goodies, clothes and toys! It was awesome!
I had a trail of hearts leading to breakfast (cinnamon rolls my friend Karen brought over-most delicious ones I've ever had!) I told the Kids we got to have cake for breakfast! That went over well!
The note from my secret admirer:
Teddy Bears:
Amelie's new v day outfit via secret admirer as well (managed to wear it all day...no blow outs!)
Heart Attack:
For Paul, I cleaned our bedroom. Sounds silly, but it was still recovering from having the cradle and my box of maternity clothes so it was a big job! Didn't take a picture though and now it's already messy so you'll have to take my word!
For Dinner...
My bleeding heart meatloaf: (it was a huge hit!)
After dinner we took the whole Family to see Gnomeo & Juliet. It was so cute and worth seeing in theaters.
Overall...best Valentines day I've ever had! I hope everyone out there had a great day too!
