SEW!









So I've just been dying to learn how to sew. I don't mean, just sew a pillow case, but really sew! So my mother in law has set me up with some sewing lessons! Isn't she great? I am so excited! I start on Wednesday morning and I am sewing a simple dress for Abbi. I've been looking at different patterns though and came across Portabello Pixie. I think this lady makes some of the cutest designs for little girls ever! Check them out here!

I've been searching for twilight on blu ray everywhere! Paul went to Frye's today and found it for me! Plus he got me a box of Jr Mints (my favorite candy)!

For the Beauty of the Earth...

I just want to say that I'm so happy that most of the things I've planted this year are still alive (huge accomplishment for me). The scriptures say that if we pay our tithing our land will be blessed and it's so true! Just thought I'd share that moment of gratitude with everyone! Have a great day!

Ever Feel Like This...

San Diego Trip...well some of it!

Well, this is the trip where we soaked our camera in hot chocolate. Woops! So we've only got a few pictures and videos I was able to salvage from the camera.

We did lots of fun things. The zoo, sea world, disneyland! And of course no proof. haha. We went down for a little reunion with Paul's good buddies from Canada that he grew up with. We haven's seen any of them for about 5 years, so it was so good to see everyone and all their kids! There were seven kids and six adults in the house. We were right on the ocean so it was so nice to wake up to that every morning. I sure miss that here! Hopefully I'll have some more pictures soon!

Abbi's new BFF Isla. These two were peas in a pod all week. Abbi is 2 (left), Isla is 4 (right). But you would have thought they were twins!

This is my strange child...She must have thought the dirt was sand, since we'd been at the beach all week. That's the only explanation I could come up with.

Ah! Sea World...see we were there! The kids got to feed the bat rays. They were so cool and slimy!

The kids all decided they needed a magic blanket ride. Paul was good enough to drag them up and down the hallway for about a half an hour!

Baby Birds

We were out in the yard yesterday working in the garden and I walked by our back fence and something caught my eye. 2 little baby birds were sitting huddled together just staring at me. They had that look in their eyes like they were saying, "Are you my mother?" and then they opened their mouths for about 1 minute waiting for me to feed them! Isn't that so sweet? Eventually one of them hopped back through the fence into the field. It was trying to fly the whole time, spreading its little wings. The first one left before I thought to get my camera, so I only have a picture of his sister. It took her a few hours before she left. Just thought I'd share my little piece of nature!

This is the water table i got at a garage sale for $5. My kids love it!



I made this for Abbi's room. It's fabric and buttons sewn onto canvas. I saw one kind of like it but not as cute at Pottery Barn Kids for $179! I thought I'd make it for cheaper! I think it's cuter too.

I've started making bracelets. Here's one I made for Abbi. Isn't it cute?

Hello Everyone! Sorry to have been neglecting my blog for so long! We've been on vacation, then the stomach flu, then company in town and then my computer died. Then Paul soaked our camera in hot chocolate, so we are cameraless at the moment. Hopefully we will have some pictures coming soon! Thanks for being patient.
