What more could a kid ask for?

On that 108 degree day we had last week, we ventured out to MacDonalds and got milkshakes and chocolate chip cookies. The milkshakes were melted by the time we got home, but they were worth it. Buddy didn't last long with his cookie though!

New Family Member

Ok so he's not really in OUR family, but we sort of adopt him on Thursdays. His name is Oliver and he's a Maltese, Pomeranian, poodle. He is so tiny and cute! We love him. The kids ask for "puppy" everyday and whenever jack sees him he says "cuuuuute." now that's cute!

Tomatoes!

We are big tomato lovers so naturally we went to the tomato gathering this Saturday! I never knew there were so many different kinds of tomatoes!
We found our favorite though: sun gold cherry tomatoes. It's like eating grapes they are so sweet! We had a great time tasting and eating fresh salsa. Yum!

Art Caddy

I made this for my kids. I thought it turned out quite nice. It's not the prettiest thing, but incredibly functional! It cost me $11 which is a heck of a lot better than $50 for the PBK version! Plus it took me 5 minutes to make! What do you think?

Anniversary Dinner

Paul and I have been married for 6 years! It's a miracle! Since Abbi was born on our 2 year anniversary we kind of forget about it sometimes, but my sister Ally was kind enough to babysit so we could go out.
We ate at Susumu which is kind of like beni-Hana. Yum. And went to the movies. Our chef was pretty amazing. Check out the onion volcano video:

Heart shaped fried rice. Just for our anniversary!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US!

Being that our first child was born on our anniversary, we tend to overlook it every year, but I didn't want this year to pass without saying something special to my husband:

Hey Babe,
Thanks for the 6 most wonderful years of my life! Thanks for the (almost) 3 beautiful kids! Thanks for marrying me! Thanks for being a great Dad! Thanks for being a great husband! Thanks for being you! I love you so much and can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together!
Love,
Your Wife

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBI!

Dear Abbi,
I can't believe that 4 years ago today you came into our family and changed our lives forever. You truly have been the light of our lives these past 4 years. You make us so happy and even when we are not around you we can't stop talking about you! You are so kind and considerate of others, you love your family, you love to say your prayers, read scriptures, and do family home evening, you are so good at sharing, you give the best snuggles. Some of my favorite words to hear in the morning are, "Mommy, I love you!" They melt my heart every time! Thank you for being you. You are such a good girl and we will love you forever!
Love,
Mom & Dad

My sister is keeping busy...

Everyone has been asking what my 15 year old sister has been doing while she's been staying with me. Here is a little preview:

Abbi is 4...almost!

We celebrated Abbi's 4th birthday a week early along with her aunt Monica's birthday. We had some yummy carne asada and grandma made cute octopus cupcakes! She got adorable presents from everyone which she just LOVED! She was so hyped up all day from the party anticipation and excitement and probably cupcake overload! We had a huge fight when we tried to put her to bed (which finally happened around 10 pm!) The party was a success and Abbi was so glad that most of her cousins could be there to celebrate with her. Thanks everyone!

Craft Bucket Lazy Susan: DIY

So you may remember me saying something about the buy one get one free Crayola items at Toys R Us a few weeks ago? Well, let's just say I've got a lot of craft items I need to organize right now! I was at Pottery Barn Kids today (just browsing of course! What else could I do there?) and I came across this cute little lazy susan craft bucket thing:

Of course I want one right? But $50??? Come on! So I decided that I'm going to make my own. I found this easy/adorable tutorial online and I'm so there!

TA-DA! I can't wait till mine's done. I'll post a pic when I'm finished! One more thing to add to the list of pre-baby projects! I won't show you my list, it's too long and too many things will remain incomplete!

Block Party!

Our neighborhood had a little block party last night. The cops were there, paramedics, and firefighters. The kids loved it!

The Work of a Mother is Hard...

I think maybe all moms should watch this every day!
