My First Diaper Cake

This was my first diaper cake and it was totally easy and fun and I thought it turned out so cute. This is a horrible picture of it, but you get the idea. Maybe someone out there took a better picture of it at the shower???

Toy Story Mania!

So this is our amazing Quadruple Toy Story Costume Party! We had 23 people there. A lot of people for our small house and yard, but it was some fun family togetherness! We had hot dogs and hamburgers, potato salad and watermelon. And of course lots of soda and lots of cake!

Buddy as Woody

Abbi as Bo Peep
Sara as Malibu Barbie (I told her she had to be Theresa though because she's brunette)

Elise as Weezie the squeaky penguin

Jeff as Ken (the ascott was torn off in the first few seconds and I didn't get a picture of it, but it was awesome)

Summer as Jessie (Janie was Jessie as well)

I don't think this is everyone, but pretty close. A few people came late. But as you can see on the right even Grandma and Grandpa dressed up!

These are the Triple J's: Jackson, Jordan & Janie

We had two Buzzes: Carter & CJ

This is Buzz with Zurg: Carter & Huntley

The Four Birthday Babies: Janie, Jack, Carter & Jordan holding them all

Army guy and Airforce Barbie

When everyone took off their costumes and put their bathing suits on, they all turned into Malibu Barbie and Ken. Haha.

Buddy with Lulu or "Wuwu" (one of his favorite babysitters)

Daddy holding some freezing kids

It was a little chaotic with 3 toddlers opening presents at the same time, but also very fun! Buddy got some really cute stuff. Mostly Toy Story of course! A cute outfit from grandma, Leap Frog Scout from Aunt Steph, an awesome plate set from Aunt B, gift cards from Aunt Monnie & Heddie, and a Toy Story soccer Ball from Grandma Raine. He was in Toy Story Heaven!!! Thank you everyone!

I should have taken a video of this, but Abbi and Buddy were sharing a napkin, it was the cutest thing. One would wipe their mouth, then the next and so on.

I think Abbi enjoyed my cupcakes!

And maybe Buddy too!

Janie enjoying some Alien Cake!

And now time for the Pinata!

Everyone gave it a good whack.

Overall I think the party was a real hit. Everyone was fed well and got lots of candy and had lots of fun! What more could you ask for right? So now, it's time to plan Abbi's birthday party for August. Any ideas?

Birthday Party Invite

My baby boy Jackson turned 2 on May 30th. I know, bad mommy for not posting! Actually I'm an even worse mommy because I wasn't home on his birthday! I was at my brother's graduation in West Virginia! So I really totally missed his birthday! But, he's 2 and he doesn't know, so we celebrated it this week. He was born on the same day as 2 of his other cousins, Jordan and Janie. So we call it the triple J b-day. Jordan, Jack & Janie. So we had a big birthday party for all of them. Another cousin Carter was born 3 weeks after Jack so we threw him in there too! So quadruple Family birthday party at my house! Oh yeah, and let's put an awning in the same day as the party! Good idea right? The workers finished the awning just as the first guests were arriving! Well anyways, here are a few posts from the Toy Story Party Mania!

Cake Boss

My sister Stephanie is a pro cake maker! I've never met anyone before who could actually make cakes look like something. I thought I was doing pretty good to add a bit of green die and decoration to my box mix cupcakes, but this is really something else. She was nice enough to let me help in the process, though she definitely did about 99% of the work! Brandi and I split the other 1%. Thanks for the experience Steph!

Brandi & Stephanie (baby Janie in the middle)

Three layers: Yellow, Chocolate, & Angel Food. I actually layered and put the frosting in between the layers. Home made Lemon Buttercream Icing! mmmm

Then we printed out a big picture of the little Toy Story Alien guy and traced him on construction paper using different colors for his different pieces. Each piece of paper would be a different piece of fondant.
Then we put the little guy back together again to make sure he looked right.

The part I did. I ended up breaking every piece of the cake. woops!

We cut out the body

Frosted the Body
Rolled Fondant, died it, cut it and laid it over the cake
I think there were 7 different colors of fondant that we had to make. He's coming along nicely isn't he?
Brandi laying some fondant shoes
Finished product!!! Isn't he adorable? Steph got to my house around 9 am and we worked non stop until 5:15! But it was worth it don't you think?

And this is my sad contribution. Aint nothin' homemade about it sorry. Funfetti and died store bought icing, but they were still a hit!

Chocolate Face

Fenton's Ice Cream Parlor

Almost the whole family headed out to Vacaville to see Richard & Brandi & fam. We went to Fenton's Ice Cream Parlor. If you've ever seen the movie "Up" when the old man and Russell are eating ice cream on the curb watching the cars go by, they are sitting outside Fenton's. I guess there are only 2 of them, so it was kind of cool to go. Their ice cream was very yummy and their portions were huge! I got the petite scoops for my kids because it was the cheapest thing there, but even those were big!

Jefferson & Abigail. Really into "Peace" these days I guess.

The "petite" scoop

Buddy again giving up on the utensils. I think he was more suited for an ice cream cone.

mmmmm....
