I'm sure everyone is outside today enjoying this beautiful weather we are having. Everyone except me. I'm stuck at home, sick, with sick kids, having a pity party for myself! Boo hoo!
Well it's not really anyone's birthday, but Abbi has really been into wrapping presents lately for everyone. She wrapped this ball for buddy all by herself!
My sister Brandi and I took an incredibly spontaneous trip to San Francisco on Wednesday. We took the kids to play at golden gate park, which is awesome! We go everytime we make a trip to the city. And the weather was actually favorable! The kids found a pet worm. Jeff, jack and carter would not touch it, but kami and abbi were all over that! We had to talk kami into finding it a good home in the dirt rather than the sand in which it came from.
On our way to eat we drove down Lombard street. That was a little scary in a Honda pilot!
Then out to the boudin factory for bread bowls. It's always comical to me when we take our kids to restaurants in San Francisco. The people always seem a little less family-friendly! But we made it through dinner with relatively few melt downs, poopy diapers, and disapproving glances! I think this is the only picture we got with all the kids in it. They were looking at all the bread animals in the window. How cute.
Then we made the kids walk .6 miles up hill to Ghirardelli square. Which was apparently torture! I had to pretty much remind jack to keep walking every second! But, we got our cupcakes and chocolate and then everyone was happy! Then while walking back (at least it was down hill) we ran into a magician. That really made the kids' night.
We like our children to be culturally aware. Occasionally we read them books in Spanish or French. After reading them a book in Spanish, this is what Jack did:
Abigail & Jackson: more commonly known as Abbi and Baby Jack
The Story
Paul & Van met 7 years ago when Van had just finished high school and Paul was teaching high school (no, she was not in high school while he was teaching and she wasn't his student...we get that question a lot!). They dated for 2 years until Van was old enough to get married and Paul was sure enough to make a commitment! They were married in the San Diego Temple (Van's hometown) and 2 years later (on their 2 year anniversary to be exact) Abigail was born! Then 21 months later...Jackson joined the fam! Then 2 1/2 years later, Amelie came! It's been a fun journey! Paul is a consultant doing...something...what was it again babe? Van stays at home with the kiddos and they often debate which job is harder. The Hunt Fam enjoys hanging out with each other, music, the outdoors, traveling, good food (especially good cheese!), good friends, babysitters, movies, anything "techy", apple products, politics, good books, church and being a family.
